Finally finished the ‘Oracle’ piece I was working on and photographed it. I learned a lot while making this piece.
Rubber cement is your friend.
But only if you know how to work with it. You have to spread it on both pieces you want to bond together and let it almost completely dry before sticking them together. Works wonderously well that way.
Of course I had to screw it up a time or two by leaving it too wet to start with.
Paper is cool.
I learned I REALLY enjoy working with paper and mixed media in general. I think it’s quite groovy to take materials as ‘lowly’ as corrugated cardboard and transform them into art.

By the time it was all said and done, the list of ingredients ran something like this:
- 2 extra heavy duty pieces of corrugated cardboard
- Acrylic Modeling Past
- Soft Pastels
- Metallic Gold Acrylic Paint
- Cold Press Watercolor Paper
- Black Ink
- Epson Ultra Premium Presentation Paper (Matte)
- Rubber Cement
- Small Washers
- Small Brass Screws
- Small Brass Nuts
- Wire
- Hot Glue
- Krylon Workable Fixative
- Krylon UV Fixative
